Sapphire

Sapphire is a popular gemstone known for its beautiful blue colour, but it can also come in other colours such as pink, yellow, green or even colourless.

Sapphires have a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, which makes them durable and suitable for everyday wear.

The sapphire stone represents loyalty, trust and love.  It is symbol of long-lasting love and commitment. In France, sapphires are the stones used for 16th wedding anniversaries.

Specifically the color deep blue is associated with wisdom, truth and sincerity. Thus, deep blue sapphires can be used in jewelery to represent long-lasting marriage.

Quality & Colour

The quality as a sapphire is determined by its color, clarity, cut, and carat weight.  The most desirable sapphires have a vivid, saturated blue colour with good clarity.
